Cremation is a major source of black carbon

Original Press Release.  News article.  Burning is central to human life, and many human after-lifes.  Unfortunately, smoldering fires release soot and toxic compounds which degrade air quality, accelerate snow melt, and warm the climate.

A Tree Dies in the Forest...

Eastern forest disturbance is primarily through canopy gaps.  These forests are ...."characterized by a long recurrence interval of disturbance relative to successional recovery time as well as small disturbance area."

Last Will and Testament

I certify that this is accurate and precise and current, unless amended. In the event of my death I hope this document is followed as much as is convenient to the executers of my estate. I hope this blog can be maintained or archived for posterity.

If brain damaged beyond recovery I do not wish to live on life support. I wish for my organs to be donated to medicine and science and the remains cremated at least possible cost and buried in some garden or under a tree somewhere.

I would like to donate whatever funds remain after my death to these trusted organizations:

Trees for the Future
Sky Island Alliance, Tucson, Arizona
Great Peninsula Conservancy, Kitsap County WA

Also, my friends should each receive $1,000 at my funeral to pursue their projects.
